What is a Spirit Portrait? An image or likeness of the recipient’s loved ones, relatives or friends is drawn, giving proof of survival after death; spirit guides and helpers are also sometimes received. The picture can be used on its own or together with a spiritual or psychic message. Names, dates, words, phrases and even objects may be given alongside the picture to help identify the communicator. What is an Auragraph? A piece of art created for an individual that reflects his or her auric field in some way. It can be a representation of the energy colours around the physical body or a more abstract work which tells the story of someone’s life pathway, talents, personality, character etc. One of the main features of an auragraph is colour and how it reflects the person for whom it is intended. An auragraph can help to give a greater understanding of ourselves and the powers that influence and motivate us. How does a picture evolve? There are various ways to begin a spiritual art portrait. I sometimes put down a sheet of colour in pastel which then forms into a face shape but I usually begin with the eyes as these show the character of the person coming through. I often get a clear impression of the character being drawn through my drawing technique, for example a quiet, delicate person will lead me to draw in a calm, delicate way and a bold, ‘scruffy’ character causes me to draw in a strong, sketchy style. A child will bring very soft and pure strokes through. The person being drawn often gives me instructions clairaudiently as to how they would like me to draw them, correcting me if I do something wrong! Spiritual art is a beautiful expression of communication from the spirit world and can provide evidence to prove the survival of life beyond death as well as giving a non-verbal representation of a person’s energy field.
